my pretty fwend

tiffanyjen:

I went to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx with Alvaro over the weekend for the orchid show. So lovely lovely it is to be surrounded by the most beautiful parts of mother nature! These are some of my favorite photos taken by both Alvaro and I.

to my soulmates from NY

i’m back home now. “home”. this is my home but i’ve learned that it has many definitions. being in the presence of you all is most certainly one of them for me. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS. i think my heart might explode if i think about you all too much. and a million thank you’s would never sum it up. but thank you. and i love you. each so much and so differently. and uniquely. and i’ll be up there soon enough. and i’m already excited to spend the rest of my life with you all orbiting my life.

“Mom, listen, I haven’t been together with Topanga for 22 years, but we have been together for 16. That’s a lot longer than most couples have been together. I mean, when we were born, you told me that we used to take walks in our strollers together around the block. When we were two, we were best friends. I mean, I knew everything about this girl. I knew her favorite color, her favorite food. Then we became six, Eric made fun of me because it wasn’t cool to have a best friend that was a girl or even know a girl. So for the next seven years I threw dirt at her. I like to call those “the lost years”. Then when I was thirteen, mom, she put me up against my locker and she kissed me. I mean, she gave me my first kiss. She taught me how to dance. She always was talking about these crazy things and I never understood a word she said. All I understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I’m with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that’s, that’s what I think is love, mom. When I’m better because she’s here.” - Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World

An unexpected side-effect of the 2010 flooding in parts of Sindh, Pakistan, was that millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters; because of the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water took so long to recede, many trees became cocooned in spiders webs. People in the area had never seen this phenomenon before, but they also reported that there were less mosquitos than they would have expected, given the amount of standing water that was left. Not being bitten by mosquitoes was one small blessing for people that had lost everything in the floods. (© Russell Watkins) #

remember the truth

so be still right now. that is the correct thing to do. dont react. that would be wrong. be still. let this feeling wash over you. and return to ok. life keeps moving. but we always return to ok. its where u belong. you are just visiting the bad. stop making it a home.

the words of my incredible friend Laura. words i do not soon wish to forget.

reminder: let your life and the intensity with which you feel things be the driving force behind your art. be honest. use the truth. and stop overwhelming.

just in fucking time.
